Be Dazzled by Bartok Tiles...
We begin with clay, heavy and dense, along with the delicate and airy glass.
The addition of heat transforms the clay into Terracotta, and the glass into enamel.
It is with the marriage of these two materials that Bartok tiles are born.
Each tile has its own brightness, varying textures, and with the playful use of coloured enamel we explore the world of Bartok Art.
The History of Tiles
Setting the scene... Beginning in the Middle East, then to Europe, and finally to Japan.
We begin in the 13th century, the Arab sphere of influence extends through most of North Africa and into Spain. In attempt to conquer more territory in Europe the launch an attack on the mainland, spreading fear and terror amongst the people.
