On July 8, 2009, Kobe shinbun introduced the "slow map" of Kitano featuring the area's hidden gems.

The "slow map" was created by the architecture firm Dodici Dodici. The concept of the "slow map" is to reveal the little streets with Kitano's hidden gems, establishmets that wouldn't show up on a regular tourist map. With this map you can slowly stroll through the area and soak up everything Kitano has to offer.
